Pastor Shawn is originally from Keller, Texas, just north of Ft. Worth. He is a longtime resident of the Brazos Valley. He and his wife, Kim, have two daughters and a dog named [La-la-la-la-la-] Lola. Shawn loves bonus opportunities to hang out with Kim, preferably on a beach far away from everyday life.
When Brazos Fellowship was new, Shawn loved its message and saw the potential for changing lives in the Brazos Valley. He joined the ministry team so he could help the church better serve the community. Every day, Shawn continues to be amazed at seeing lives change, and loves the privilege of getting to be part of God’s work here.
Shawn’s wife Kim has been a constant source of encouragement and inspiration over the years. She has a deep interest in noticing the marginalized people of the world and helping them into a place of community. This challenges Shawn to love others the way he has been loved by God the Father. Words that have especially influenced Shawn through the years remind him:
“Don’t turn people who are different or disagree with you into monsters. We can let ourselves believe we don’t have to love them if we think they are less than human in some way.”
