UpStreet 3 – 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade
Older Elementary age kids are collectors of information. They discover and catalogue new facts as they begin the process of discovering how they are distinct from the world around them.
At Brazos Fellowship, our developmental task with this age group is to PROVOKE DISCOVERY of who God is, how He sees them, and how much He loves them. To do this, we invite kids to consider their relationships with God and others.
Using a personal application approach, kids in The Mix are taught from the elementary curriculum called 252 Basics, part of a program called Orange* and based on these words from Luke 2:52:
“Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people.” (NLT).
On UpStreet, we believe the Bible should never be boring, worship can be really loud, and good leaders always care. Before kids head off to middle school, we want to make sure these three things stick:
- I need to make the wise choice (wisdom);
- I can trust God no matter what (faith); and
- I should treat others the way I want to be treated (friendship).
Each month of a three-year cycle, kids explore a different life application or quality that Christ grows in his followers to make them more like him. Weekly lessons are built around the most familiar, foundational Bible stories for kids, with regular opportunities to hear the plan of salvation.
Ready for your kids to experience UpStreet for themselves? We look forward to meeting you in person soon!
