Following Jesus is the single greatest decision someone can make with their life.

Everything changes the moment you decide to move forward with your new identity in Jesus. It is one of the most exciting and joyous times for a believer, filled with the promise of a new life. But often, there is the struggle of knowing what to do next. What does it mean to follow Jesus and be a disciple?

Thankfully, we have a clear answer on the next step for followers of Jesus in Matthew 28:18-19:

“Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’”

Jesus, in his final words to his followers, clearly shows us the importance of baptism in a believer’s life as a new disciple. As a church committed to making disciples, it is our responsibility to encourage those of you who have chosen to follow Jesus to take the next step in your faith journey through baptism. Baptism is an opportunity for you, as a believer and disciple, to demonstrate obedience to your new life in Jesus.

This is an opportunity to publicly display the life change that has already happened in your heart while knowing you are taking a biblically obedient step in your discipleship journey. If you are ready for that step or want more information on what we believe about baptism here at Brazos Fellowship, let us know through the buttons below.
