Corey grew up in Brenham, TX. He moved to College Station in 1999 to attend Texas A&M, and has made this his permanent home. He married his high school sweetheart, Amy, and together they are raising two daughters with the help of a pair of beloved dogs. Corey loves to be outdoors; on an ideal free day he would love to go mountain biking, kayaking, or fishing.
Corey started playing in the stage band at the church’s second public service in 2005. Two years later he moved to the audio/visual booth, which turned into a full-time position as Technical Director in 2008. He loves using the ever-changing possibilities of technology to help people grow closer to God. The most meaningful part of this position for Corey is the church’s vision to help people learn about God without barriers of tradition or expectations.
The greatest spiritual influence in Corey’s life has been his dad. The family started attending a small Lutheran church when he was nine years old, after a younger sister passed away from leukemia. Corey and his dad learned together about relationship with God, and have continued to walk the journey of faith together in the years since.
The most useful spiritual advice Corey would like to share:
“Jesus is all about LOVE. You can show people more about Jesus through your actions than anything you can say.”
