Waumba Land 1 – Nursery (Infants)
From their earliest days on Earth, babies are ready to experience three basic truths:
- God loves me;
- God made me; and
- Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Each month, we focus on one of these three truths. Volunteers have a simple song or rhyme they repeat to the babies while rocking, changing or playing with them. We believe that even before babies have language, we can still begin the work of building a solid foundation of truth for their lives.
You may be wondering “What does Waumba Land even mean?” Waumba means Creator in Swahili, so Waumba Land means “the land of the Creator.” Waumba Land is the new name of our weekly environment created especially for your infant (six weeks) through Kindergarten children. We can’t wait to meet them! We know things are busy at this stage of life and your children are learning and growing in amazing ways. We are ready for them!
As soon as they have had their 6-week vaccinations, new babies are welcomed into our nursery with loving arms. It may be difficult to believe that someone could be ready and willing to manage all the blankets and bottles, diapers and pacis you just packed so carefully into your travel bag. But our very special nursery volunteers honestly can’t wait for the opportunity to love on your precious bundle while you experience spiritual truths on your own level during service in the main auditorium.
For nursing mothers needing a quiet spot, the women’s restroom in the Upper Level includes a small room with a chair for nursing, as well as a changing table and a door for privacy.
