Thinking about applying to be a leader with Two42?

Our driving mission is to CONNECT students to authentic community, COMPEL them to grow in their relationship with Christ, and ENGAGE them in the mission of the gospel. We strive to accomplish through a variety of environments. Our Community Groups and SERVE Teams are the heart of Two42. We are excited you are prayerfully considering applying to help lead through one of these areas.

As you pray about this process, we want to help paint a picture of what you are saying yes to. Ultimately, you are NOT saying yes to leading a Bible study. You are NOT saying yes to always having the right answer or being the smartest person in the room. You are NOT saying yes to signing your life away. You ARE saying yes to creating a space for authentic community to happen. You ARE saying yes to being real and honest. You ARE saying yes to an incredible adventure. Don’t just take our word for it. Here are a few testimonials from some of our amazing leaders.

As you work through this application you will see links to more information. We have provided context on what the time commitment looks like and what exactly you are committing to as you step into a leadership role. If you still have questions or would like more information before filling out the application, shoot Chris a text (979.574.3200). We can’t wait to serve with you.

Being the connections team lead has allowed me to see all of the new faces that come in and help them get plugged in. It is such a blessing to see how God moves in so many different ways and be a part of building community in this ministry. I have also been able to witness the connections team themselves grow and step out of their comfort zone while talking to others and making them feel welcome. Serving on leadership has provided me with so many opportunities to grow my faith and show God’s love to others. The accountability you receive and the people that walk with you is beyond amazing! – Michelle Edington, SERVE Team Lead

I’ve been a part of TWO42 all 4 years of college, and the idea of being a CG Leader was always daunting to me. I’m extremely introverted until I get to know someone, so when I felt God calling me to apply, I was like, “Are you sure you have the right guy?” But all jokes aside, being a CG Leader has positively impacted my life in so many ways.

Firstly, I have gotten so close with the rest of the leaders, whether it was through leadership retreats, trainings, or dinners together. We planned together, prayed together, and laughed together, and getting to serve alongside my friends within the ministry has been a huge blessing.
Within my CG, it was so cool to see God work and build relationships right off the bat. By the end of the first semester, it felt like we had known each other our whole lives and everyone was so invested in our time together at CGs. Even when things were crazy in my personal life, the Lord always equipped me with what I needed and allowed me to invest in the CG.

If you are feeling called to apply to be a CG Leader, my advice is to do it without hesitation. Yes, it takes time and effort, but the reward is beautiful and well worth it. Through this experience, I have found family, grown closer with my CG Partner (shoutout to Audrey), and deepened my relationship with Christ! Don’t wait, APPLY TODAY!!! – Colby LaPorte, Current CG Leader

Being a cg leader has been one of the greatest privileges of my college experience. I’ve gotten to witness the Lord doing amazing things through true authentic community and it’s been an honor to know that He has used me to contribute to His plan. I’ve learned so much about relying on the Lord to guide the words that come out of my mouth and to give me the wisdom to lead His people. I have enjoyed loving on my cg members and seeing them come out of their shells and open up in so many different ways. Leading a cg is not about having the right words to say. It’s not about being the wisest person in the room. It’s about loving others and supporting them and creating a safe space where people feel comfortable and loved. Plus, you get to make tons of new friends! It’s also amazing because you don’t have the pressure of leading alone. You have a partner who is leading right there with you, and you also have a whole team of other leaders who support you and one another. If you feel called to be a leader, PLEASE apply! You never know what the Lord will do in and through you until you say yes to His call. – Rylee Kellner, Current CG Leader
